This is the final project from the online course on realistic drawing using graphite pencils by Kirsty Partridge.

The goal for the project was to redo an older drawing, using the new techniques learned in this course.

The old drawing I chose was this one from 2020 - which looked great to me at the time :) - and this is the redone version (using all the techniques I've learned like various pencil grades, shading, blending, erasers etc):

Time for a new comic clip! I was very much looking forward to making this one, based on "The Flight of Icarus" by Iron Maiden.

I've had this idea for maybe a couple of years, but I didn't feel I was ready for this. But then I realised, you are never ready until you actually do it. Here it is.

At comic class we've been working for a few weeks on a comic version of a movie scene from "Mad Max: Fury Road". 4 page storyboard, pencils and one fully inked page.

This page is done in traditional media, using ink and a few copic markers (toner gray range) for the halftones.

Una nova entrega de Txevi Metal... el personatge va prenent forma.

Fet amb ploma (Tachikawa G-Pen) i retoladors Copic (diversos tons de Toner Gray). Retolat amb estilogràfica, en aquesta àrea encara estic experimentant per decidir què utilitzar.

Ahir vaig començar el curs de Còmic a l'escola Joso (estic al nivell 2, el grau complet son 3 anys). Aquest any treballarem principalment la part narrativa del còmic.

La primera feina va ser fer un còmic d'una pàgina basat en una sèrie de paraules aleatòries: Casa, Tetera, Marcians, Samurai, Pomes, Dofí. Això és el que em va sortir en aquesta primera sessió de 4 hores (l'entintat el vaig haver d'acabar a casa per falta de temps):

M'he decidit a arrencar amb el personatge de Txevi Metal, del qual només n'havia fet un pilot fa un parell d'anys. Aquest primer episodi l'he anat elaborant al llarg del segon i tercer trimestre del 2021.

Una menció especial per a l'Ivan Fernández Silva que ha estat el meu professor i m'ha fet pujar el llistó durant aquest projecte.
